LONDON, ENGLAND

TEN THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1 - Get an Oystercard for instant savings. Everyone uses public transport! One journey may require a tube, train AND bus!

2 - London is split into zones with 1 being in the centre and 6 being Essex. If anyone lives outside of zone 4, its not London as far as we're concerned.

3 - Tipping is not compulsory! Only tip if the service was amazing, usually 10-20%. Some restaurants/bars may automatically add a service charge.

4 - Walking is the most pleasant way to get around, and always look up! The old buildings may have changed facias at ground level but the upper floors still retain their architectural grandeur.

5 - There is always something happening along South Bank. Take a walk along the River Thames from Tower Bridge to Waterloo Bridge for galleries, restaurants, theatres and shops, going past the infamous South Bank skate underpass for some eye candy.

6 - Don't talk to strangers on public transport. It's just weird. Talking to people on the street seems to be ok though.

7 - Pubs are not the same as bars, they are always more local and very British, with a mix of old and young people.

8 - There is ALWAYS some construction going on somewhere, particularly on the weekend. Check the transport networks for service disruptions before making long journeys.

9 - Areas to call your home! Shoreditch for trendies, Notting Hill for luvvies, Soho for gays and media people and Brixton for rudegals!

10 - London weather is tempermental and you can have 4 seasons in one day. Always carry umbrella or wear a hood!

Oh! And make sure you hit us up at WAH HQ!
